This professional-quality solvent-based varnish dries to a transparent, non-yellowing film that helps protect finished surfaces from dirt and grease while enhancing the depth and richness of the colors beneath.
The durable gloss finish is quick drying, UV resistant, and formulated to resist blooming and cracking. It is suitable for use over fully dried oil and acrylic paintings and is removable with an appropriate artist’s solvent when re-varnishing is required.
Especially useful for fine-line crackle projects: Because this is a solvent-based varnish, it is a good option to consider as a final protective coating over projects created with Pentart Fineline Crackle Varnish, which requires a solvent-based rather than water-based topcoat. Allow the crackle finish and underlying acrylic paint to dry thoroughly before varnishing, and we recommend testing on a small sample first when combining different manufacturers’ products.
