Decoupage Art Decoupage Jar with Kitten in Red Bandana made with Napkins for Decoupage and Stencils

Kitty Treat Jar

Customer Photo Submission and Comments:

I picked this pattern because she looks just like my precious kitty. I think the stenciling and tweed rope add a nice touch. I traced the inside of the stencil lightly with a pencil. Then I hand painted inside the pencil markings. This helped me control the paint better. I keep her favorite cat treats in here.  :)

Lemon Jar

Customer Photo Submission and Comments:

Adorable Lemon Jar!

Technique: Paint a glass jar with 1 coat of Gesso and 2 coats of white acrylic paint. Bake in the oven to harden. After cooling, apply top layer of 3-ply napkin using Mod Podge glue. Several more layers of glue are added over a period of days. Then a layer of varnish. My favorite varnish (after trying many) is Liquitex. It is thin, doesn't yellow and dries to a beautiful glossy finish. I've learned the hard way to wait a few days before applying the varnish layer. This allows the glue to completely dry. If you varnish too soon you may experience cracking all through the glue layer. Have fun! I love jars.  :)
